So recently one of our favorite Second Amendment organizations, Modern Musket, came under attack by an individual who was very adamant about firearms. This individual also happens to be a Senior Producer and A&E. Just saying... Here is what this un-named individual had to say...
"Maybe you should pay to have your posts promoted to people who approve of your spreading of violent weapons and gun worship, and not someone like me, who despises companies like yours."
"A musket could never kill 27 kids in under 5 minutes. Their blood is on your hands."
"And I'll be waiting for you, here in the 21st century, where civilized nations rid themselves of barbarism."
"Over 30,000 people die from firearms in this country per year. It's the highest in the world... more than Pakistan. Your talk of "extreme minority" is fallacious at best."
"And my last point: pressure cookers, knives, etc. all have purposes besides to kill. A gun has no other purpose, so it is quite different than those other things."
Well Stoney occasionally likes to discuss the Second Amendment with staunch anti-gun supporters. Although he does not prefer rude ones such as this. None the less he decided to ring in his two cents and hope that this individual would be able to converse. Here was Stoney's response...
"I take it you're a believer in free choice? I am as well. Good common ground I think. May I ask what you feel your number one right is? I believe mine is the right to my own life. It is the only thing is this world that I posses that is truly my own that I can't replace or repair. I am presuming, but I bet that would be important to you as well.
The nice thing about supporting the Second Amendment is that it doesn't take away or deny anything from anyone. It allows a choice. I choose to practice the Second Amendment. You choose not to. It's great. I'm very glad that you can choose to do what you are most comfortable with. Clearly our choices are different but we each went with what is best for us. This choice allows us both do decide how best to maintain our own lives. Those lives that only belong to you and I.
Well as I see it, my life is very precious. It is also very fragile in that once it is lost, it is lost forever. While there are numerous ways that my life could be compromised; I don't feel that it's up to a thug, a villain, a criminal, a violent person, etc to decide how important my life is. In that same note I don't feel it's up to individuals such as yourself to decide that for me either. If I choose to jump off a bridge and waste my life, it is my choice. It doesn't take the life of anyone else when I do that. But when someone threatens me with violence and wants to take my life then there is a problem. They are choosing for me, what will happen with my one most precious and fragile life. It's mine and can never be possessed by them or anyone else. It's impossible. Who are they to decide if my life will be ripped from me and thrown to the wind? How do you feel about it?
I choose to practice the Second Amendment because it allows me a better chance to ensure that my life stays my own. It gives me the ability not to force others to live their lives a certain way, but to ensure mine will be lived to the fullest if required. If you are threatened would you not seek a way to immediately ensure that your life would be safe? Emphasis on the immediate. Your life could be taken with a knife, stick, hammer, rope, or most any item really. Would you honestly in that moment be glad that you only had an equal or less comparable means of defense? Or would you rather gain the advantage in keeping your own life through the Second Amendment? The Second Amendment affords you the opportunity to keep your own life. That life, as I see it, is the single most precious thing you can have. I choose to keep mine and I hope your's is as equally precious to you. You seem very adamant about defending others which is admirable. Just don't forget to defend yourself so that you can continue helping those in need."
What do you think? Is your right to life worth carrying a object with "no other purpose than to kill"? How do you feel about the fact the individual is a Senior Producer from A&E? We know how Stoney feels. His life is his own. We got money that Vadar feels the same way.
If your a believer in the Second Amendment we encourage you to check out Modern Musket and show them your support. It is an excellent organization that promotes our nations cause through calm, controlled, polite, and educated activism.
